In a sex work setting, consent can be altered, withdrawn or expanded at any time, at the discretion of the sex worker.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What we recommend and why<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Section 348(2)(e) \u2018by false and fraudulent representations about the nature or purpose of the act\u2019 be amended to include \u2018or the withdrawal of payment or non-payment of a sex worker\u2019.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This submission discusses the barriers for sex workers to report crimes.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recommendation: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Legal Affairs and Safety Committee recommend<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that the decriminalisation of sex work is urgently referred to the Queensland Law Reform Commission.<\/span><\/p>\n<a href='https:\/\/respectqld.org.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/Documents\/sub_120121.pdf' class='small-button smallred' target=\"_blank\">Full submission here<\/a>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Consent and removal of consent due to non-payment for sexual services.
