We stand in solidarity with Asian background people on the lands of the Yugambeh language group (Gold Coast), and everywhere across the country. Asian cultural, personal and social contribution and participation in public life is valued, welcome and important. Racism is not.
Respect Inc condemns racist jokes, vilification, abuse, denigration, violence and incitement to violence. It is unacceptable that any cultural group is subject to prejudice and false generalisations. In particular, we condemn civil leaders in positions of authority using their platform to promote racism.
Asian background peers are welcome and safe in all the spaces run by Respect Inc, and we call upon non-Asian sex workers to do your part to making all sex work spaces safe, and places where racism will not be tolerated.
