Sex workers and allies – Join us on the Labour Day march | Respect QLD

Wear red and look for the ‘Decriminalise sex work’ banner

Who:Sex workers, allies, family, friends & supporters
When:10am Monday, 3 May
Where:meet outside Common House
(74b Wickham st, Fortitude Valley)
We will have our banner on display for all the participants to see as they go past. DecrimQLD will join in towards the end of the parade and march up to our rally spot at 4zzz (264 Barry parade, Fortitude Valley) where we will have a speaker.

In Qld, sex workers are fighting against cruel, oppressive laws and targetting by police who pose as our clients arresting us for the crime of using basic safety strategies. We have been working under these laws for twenty years and they have failed us as sex workers and they have failed the Queensland community. Because of the Licensing framework and laws in the Criminal Code sex workers in QLD must make the decision whether to work legally OR safely – no worker should have to make this choice and laws that criminalise sex worker safety must be repealed. We are humans and we deserve human rights, we’re workers and we deserve workers’ rights!

Join sex workers and #DecrimQLD to demand the full decriminalisation of sex work in Queensland, a moratorium on police entrapping sex workers, and a moratorium against police charging sex workers for implementing basic safety strategies.
