We’re Hiring: Trans Woman Peer Educator (Meanjin/Brisbane) | Respect QLD

Respect Inc is seeking a Trans Woman Peer Educator to join our team in Meanjin (Brisbane). This part-time role is for trans women with lived sex work experience and focuses on supporting trans women sex workers through peer education, advocacy, and community development.


Position Details

  • Location: Meanjin (Brisbane)
  • Hours: 10 hours per week
  • Pay: SCHADS Industry Award Level 4.1, $43.08/hour

About the Role

This role involves building strong community connections and supporting the health, rights, and well-being of trans women sex workers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing peer education, support, and referrals to trans women sex workers.
  • Advocating for improved access to services and reducing stigma.
  • Delivering workforce development training to external organisations.
  • Promoting membership and community involvement in Respect Inc.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Lived sex work experience.
  • Knowledge of Queensland’s sex work laws and the sex worker rights movement.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A passion for supporting trans women sex workers.
