We’re Hiring: Career Development Peer Educator (Meanjin/Brisbane) | Respect QLD

Respect Inc is seeking a Career Development Peer Educator to join our team in Meanjin (Brisbane). This part-time role is for current or past sex workers and focuses on supporting sex workers with career development, workshops, and community activities.


Position Details

  • Location: Meanjin (Brisbane)
  • Hours: 15 hours per week
  • Pay: SCHADS Industry Award Level 4.1, $43.08/hour

About the Role

As a Career Development Peer Educator, you will:

  • Support sex workers to achieve their career goals, within or outside sex work.
  • Coordinate Respect Inc’s annual workshop program, including event planning, facilitation, and promotion.
  • Provide information, support, and referrals to sex workers on career and work-related issues.
  • Lead the Respect Inc Career Development program.

This role involves building strong community connections, supporting skill-building, and facilitating workshops for sex workers. Some travel may be required.


What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Lived sex work experience and an understanding of the issues facing sex workers in Queensland.
  • Skills in workshop facilitation, and event coordination.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Passion for peer education and supporting the sex worker community.
